Welcome to the Practice

Our mission is to provide quality counseling, coaching and consulting services in an atmosphere that is friendly, pleasant, and efficient.

The primary clientele is usually adolescent and adult males who are seeking services about a variety of concerns including addiction, internet pornography addiction, sex addiction, compulsive behavior, aggressive behavior, state and federal criminal charges/probation/parole, ADHD issues, and struggles in character.

Interventions are behaviorally based and solution-focused. Family work is strongly encouraged when possible.

Traditional Counseling (Individuals/Couples/Families)

$150 per 50-minute session

Counseling incorporates a mix of the most effective talk therapies, including psychodynamics, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and reality-based therapy (RBT).

Drug & Alcohol Intervention- Now Offered

Getting your loved one the help they need.

$4,000 for Planning and Facilitating an Intervention

Interventions can be very helpful when the drug and/or alcohol abuser will not listen to his/her family, and the family is exhausted from trying to get their loved one to get help. Intervention planning will include a 50-minute family and/or friend meeting, open communication between the therapist and family/friends, assistance in writing letters to be read to the loved one, and the meticulous coordination of details including where everyone will sit during the intervention to picking the right facility for the loved one. The actual intervention will take place in a mutually agreed upon setting, with a 4-hour window allotted for the commencement of the intervention up to the loved one’s final answer.

Medication Alone is Only Part of the Solution

Perhaps you or your loved one is receiving care from a physician who prescribed medication to assist in the abatement of symptoms of a particular behavioral disorder.

This clears a path for continued growth and offers a chance to move “out of the rut.”

Medication helps one’s ability to make choices. However, extra assistance is sometimes needed to build the skills necessary to avoid or manage problematic behaviors.

Counseling can help prevent a relapse back into the condition that needed medical intervention. ADD/ADHD, substance abuse/dependence and other compulsive disorders co-occur and may require specialized attention.

A course of brief solution-focused counseling may be appropriate. Sessions are tailored to meet each client’s needs. Consultation with referring physicians is also used as a core component of the counseling experience.

Counselor-Client Relations

Communication is vital to providing you with the best possible service. Special efforts are made to explain everything to you about your (or your loved one’s) treatment. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask for clarification.

Appointments, Fees, and Confidentiality

Your time is valuable thus, we maintain a prompt schedule.

Fees are within the customary range for the DFW area and reflect the level of care you will receive and the high level of training/experience of your counselor/therapist.

Payment for services is asked for at the time they are rendered. Payment can be made by Venmo, Zelle, check or cash. You may file your own insurance.

Please note that this is a fee-for-service practice. This office WILL NOT file your insurance for you. Remember, this office is a third party and the agreement of the insurance company to pay for your services is a contract between you and the insurance company. You are ultimately responsible for payment.

Your records are treated as confidential information.  Privacy and security of your information is very important, as HIPAA guidelines are followed.

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act” which requires practitioners to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” about out-of-network care. The Good Faith Estimate works to show the cost of items and services that are expected for your healthcare needs for an item or service, a diagnosis, and a reason for therapy. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or extraordinary circumstances occur and will be provided a new “Good Faith Estimate” should this occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill if you and your therapist have not previously talked about the change and you have not been given an updated good-faith estimate.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA), healthcare providers and healthcare facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request, or at the time of scheduling health care items and services to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. Note: The PHSA and GFE do not currently apply to any clients who are using insurance benefits, including “out of network benefits” (i.e., submitting superbills to insurance for reimbursement).

Timeline requirements: Practitioners are required to provide a good-faith estimate of expected charges for a scheduled or requested service, including items or services that are expected to be provided in conjunction with such scheduled or requested item or service. That estimate must be provided within specified timeframes:

  • If the service is scheduled at least three business days before the appointment date, no later than one business day after the date of scheduling
  • If the service is scheduled at least 10 business days before the appointment date, no

later than three business days after the date of scheduling

  • If the uninsured or self-pay patient requests a good faith estimate (without scheduling the service), no later than three business days after the date of the request.

A new good faith estimate must be provided, within the specified timeframes if the client reschedules the requested item or service.

Your Financial Responsibility Summary

For a good faith estimate: the amount you would owe if you were to attend therapy for 52 sessions in a year (weekly, without skipping any weeks for holidays, breaks, vacations, unplanned events/sickness, etc.). The “Good Faith Estimate” requires practitioners to provide an exact estimate and not a range.

Out of an abundance of caution and transparency, we will only quote weekly appointments.

Your Annual Cost Estimate: (to be completed by the therapist)

Good Faith Estimate Disclaimer

This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill. If you are billed for more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. You may contact the health care provider or facility listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can ask them to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill. There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay a higher amount.
